AboutRippowam
Rippowam is a private holding company for permanent family capital.
It was established to give first-generation entrepreneurial capital a structure capable of extending beyond the circumstances that produced it. The objective is not activity for its own sake, but continuity: a durable place from which to own selectively, maintain long relationships, and allow time to remain an advantage rather than a constraint.
Rippowam is not a fund. It does not raise outside capital, operate against a predetermined investment period, or depend upon a continuous transaction cycle. Capital may be held across operating businesses, private investments, fund relationships, and other long-duration assets. These need not resemble one another, but they should belong together for a reason. Coherence matters more than category.
Privacy is part of the model. Rippowam is not organized around a public portfolio, a broad solicitation of opportunities, or a need to continually deploy capital. The intention is to make relatively few decisions, build relationships over time, and remain capable of acting when the right circumstances appear.

Built from Operating Experience
Rippowam is informed by operating experience that continues independently of the holding company.
Its founder has built businesses, served in C-suite roles, worked alongside investment firms as an operating partner and advisor, partnered with management teams, and served on corporate boards. That work has ranged from startups and venture-backed companies through growth businesses and large enterprises, providing experience with companies at very different stages of development.
It has also included many of the transitions that change what a company becomes: venture exits, sales to private-equity and buyout owners, mergers and acquisitions from both sides of the table, and the transition from private ownership to the public markets through an IPO.
Those experiences matter less as transactions than as different forms of institutional life. Each creates its own incentives, time horizons, operating rhythms, constraints, and definitions of success. Seeing those differences firsthand makes it difficult to believe that one model of ownership is appropriate everywhere.
Rippowam carries that perspective into its own capital. The orientation is that of an owner informed by operating work, while maintaining the discipline to distinguish being useful from needing to be in control.
Beyond the Company
The same operating career has included service to charitable boards and participation in academic and educational institutions.
Those activities remain separate from Rippowam, but reflect a broader interest in institutions that endure beyond any single company, transaction, or generation.
